Finance Business Partner

We are recruiting for a business headquartered in Derbyshire and easily commutable from Burton, Nottingham, Mansfield, Derby, Chesterfield and associated areas. The Opportunity

The Finance Business Partner is responsible for month end activities, Business partnering and supporting operations/commercial as well as providing support to the master data team as and when required. You will also be responsible for the timely delivery of financial results.

This is a very fast paced business and will require an individual with exceptional communication skills and the desire to take the initiative and help drive continuous improvement. Our client is very open minded and consequently this role could suit various candidate profiles. A proven Plant Controller looking for a change or a new challenge, an ambitious ACMA, CIMA or Qualified by Experience candidate with a broad skills base. The dynamics of the role and the organisation will provide a great opportunity to help grow a business, upscale its support infrastructure and to gain exposure at Board level.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse financial/operational results/data and provide support to the Senior Financial Controller with ad-hoc requirements to support the business
• Provide clear and complete insights in financial to stakeholders in a timely manner
• Facilitate the operations KPI sessions and provide the data and analysis for these areas
• Analysis and commentary for weekly KPI’s
• Support and guide the master data team in ensuring that standard costings are current and accurate whilst validating new products
• Collect, select, structure, combine, interpret and report internal data to give better insights into plant performance
• Contribute to the development, implementation and use of effective systems and procedures for financial, operational, business risk and performance management
• Enable appropriate steering and control, ongoing insights in risks, trends and performance of the business
• Run the month end process for the plant, looking into accruals prepayments, production month end close, stock analysis, commentary on plant margins, results

Skills & Experience Required

• Degree or equivalent qualification
• CIMA or ACCA Qualified / Qualified by Experience
• Proven experience in similar Plant/ Operations Controller role in a complex manufacturing environment
• Demonstrable SAP understanding
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to persuade and influence successfully at all levels of the business
• Proactive and collaborative with a hands-on approach
• Standard costing experience
• Knowledge of stock re-evaluation
• A strong understanding of Management Accounting
