Management Accountant

At Astute Recruitment, we are working with a Manufacturing client in their search for a Management Accountant, with Financial Accounting responsibilities, based near Derby.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Finance Director and will support junior team members. This is a great opportunity to join a growing business, add value and further develop the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working as part of a team to produce monthly management accounts, for multiple group companies, to tight deadlines
• Review and explanation of variances to trend, budget, and forecast
• Monthly reporting of variances to Group with bridge, variance analysis, and commentary
• Supporting commercial decisions with ad hoc analysis
• Cash flow management and foreign currency purchase
• VAT return preparation and filing
• Assist in the annual physical stocktake and cycle count process
• Preparation of statutory accounts and participation within the R&D and Patent Box preparations
• Preparation of Annual Budgets and support development of the 5-year Strategic Plan, for multiple group companies
• Senior administrative duties including bank admin, company secretarial – annual returns, and other ad hoc
• Provide support to internal/external audits including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance

Skills and Experience:

• Professional qualification ACCA/CIMA/ ACA/QBE
• Statutory reporting and tax compliance including Corp Tax, P11D, VAT
• Experience of working within a manufacturing environment with stock and standard costing
• US GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley

Our client offers flexible start times based on 39 hours per week. This role is offering between £40,000 – £50,000 and 25-days holiday.
