• Management Accountant

    Location: Derbyshire Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 Position: Permanent

Based through the UK, Derby is the Finance centre of excellence for the organisation promoting business improvement and value-added Business partnering and commercial support.

    The Opportunity:

     

    We are looking for a Senior Management Accountant to join this growing business and manage and mentor a small team. This role will give the right candidate the opportunity to progress rapidly within the business to other areas such as Commercial Business Partnering or FP&A. This is a very fast paced business and will require a highly motivated and career focussed individual who is interested in getting involved in projects outside their role.

     

    This role will suit a Management Account or Finance Business Partner looking for a clear progression route and ongoing development. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial management information for senior management. You will lead on the provision of accurate data to support business performance with involvement in the budget/financial forecasting process.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    • Responsible for the timely and accurate production of robust monthly reporting with an emphasis on variance analysis and budget deviations including insightful commentary
    • Support the Finance Business Partner(s) with management accounting information and analysis
    • Responsible for the timely and accurate submission of VAT Returns and VAT accounting
    • Short-term cashflow forecasting
    • Improve financial control processes and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and procedures
    • Support FP&A in identifying and monitoring cost reductions and/or profit improvement for areas of responsibility with ad hoc requests relating to past or future performance
    • Take an active role in the budgeting and quarterly reforecasting process

     

    Skills and Experience Required:

     

    • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or related accounting qualification
    • Experience of preparing management information for Senior Management
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail
    • Strong Stakeholder Management skills with the ability to communicate effectively and work closely with non-Finance managers
    • A proactive and confident individual with the ability to challenge effectively
    • Strong Management skills – demonstrable experience in managing and developing people
    • Full proficiency in Microsoft Excel
