• Financial Controller

    Location: Derbyshire Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 Position: Permanent

    Astute Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a Derby site for a global manufacturing firm who are looking to recruit a Financial Controller to join them on a permanent basis.

     

    The role will cover all aspects of financial control, reporting and analysis for the site Profit & Loss & Balance Sheet.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    • To participate fully in the successful management of the site as a member of the site management team.
    • To ensure that all transactions entered into by the business are completely and accurately accounted for, recorded and reported.
    • To report to local and BU management both standard and supplementary reports, and any other information required to understand the performance of the business.
    • To raise financial awareness across the site and providing support to the departmental managers
    • To provide the necessary additional reporting to satisfy year-end / statutory reporting requirements.
    • To ensure that adequate controls exist in the business to ensure that the assets are safeguarded and the business does not incur liabilities without proper approval.
    • To ensure that the ledgers maintained for the business accurately reflect the transactions entered into.
    • To understand and report on the impact of business and operational decisions on the financial health of the site.
    • To work closely with the Site HR Manager re the local payroll(s) and ensure that adequate controls are exercised in this area.
    • As member of the site management team, shall work closely with the key stakeholders and act as a strong contributor to the success of the plant.
    • Act as a strong Business Partner to the PGM, regarding cost decision and strategic projects.
    • To ensure that stocks are safely stored and are accurately valued and controlled, including regular physical verification and ensuring accurate costings are maintained
    • To ensure that all site, Business Group and Amcor Group finance policies are complied with.
    • To co-ordinate the preparation of plans for the business (including annual budgeting, forecasts and similar projects).
    • To provide ad hoc reports that may be requested by local BU management in order to assist in understanding business issues.
    • To coordinate the preparation of site capital expenditure proposals
    • Update of Quarterly Profitability with Profit Margin Database tool (PMDB) to ensure trends are understood and actions can be put in place to mitigate any negative margin trends

     

    Requirements:

     

    • Relevant university degree or Professional Accounting Qualifications
    • Proven record of manufacturing experience in financial controlling function
    • Experience of working in a SAP environment
    • Ability to interact in a cross-cultural environment
    • Ability to function within a matrix organization
