Financial Controller

We are recruiting for a well-established business headquartered in Nottingham and easily commutable from Derby, Nottinghamshire, Mansfield, Loughborough, Ashby and associated areas.

The Opportunity:

This is a newly created Financial Controller role because of consistent business growth and the need to create a succession plan for the incumbent Chief Financial Officer. The Financial Controller role reports directly to Chief Financial Officer and will give the right candidate the opportunity to progress with the business.

This is a very fast paced business and will require a highly motivated and career focussed individual who is able to succeed in their core role whilst managing multiple business critical projects in support of the Senior Management Team and board.

This role will suit a proven Financial Controller looking for a broader role with a route to Finance Director or an ambitious Finance Manger looking to take their next career move. The dynamics of the role and the organisation will provide a great opportunity to help grow a business, upscale its support infrastructure and to gain exposure at Board level.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and preparation of year end statutory audits working closely with external auditors and tax authorities
• Production of statutory accounts and group corporation tax
• Preparation of management accounts including P&L, Cashflow and Balance Sheet variance
• Production of weekly and monthly management information and development of KPI reporting
• Management and development of the Finance team providing mentoring and support where needed
• Promote process and efficiency improvements exploring opportunities for automation
• Cash flow and working capital management including Foreign Exchange
• Project lead for multiple projects and provision of ad hoc support for the CFO and CEO

Skills & Experience Required:

• Qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA accountant or Qualified by Experience
• High level of technical knowledge and experience of accounting standards and statutory audit
• Very strong communication skills with the desire to get involved in cross functional projects
• Excellent stakeholder management with the ability to challenge and manage upwards effectively
• A commercial mindset and the ability to understand the day-to-day operations and provide a value-added finance business partnering service
• You must be a proactive individual able to operate in a challenging and high-pressure environment
• The business is all about relationship building and we require a candidate who wants to be onsite 5 days a week to promote collaboration and enhanced teamwork

Benefits:

• Salary between £55,000 – £70,000
