• Finance Manager

    Location: Derbyshire Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 Position: Permanent

    The Company:

     

    We are recruiting for a business headquartered in Derbyshire and easily commutable from Derby, Burton, Nottinghamshire, Mansfield, Loughborough, Ashby and associated areas. They offer hybrid working and free parking onsite. They are the UK arm of a Global Corporate operating internationally in Tech, Digital Media & Marketing.

This is a key, newly created role for the business and will also give the opportunity for career development and interaction with Senior Management.

     

    The Opportunity:

     

    Finance Manager reporting to the Financial Controller with the opportunity to progress eventually into a leadership role.  You will provide leadership and support to the onsite Finance team with a brief to mentor and develop junior staff members

     

    This is a very fast paced creative business and will require an individual with exceptional communication skills and the desire to take the initiative and help drive continuous improvement interacting with the senior management team and peer group. Our client is very open minded and consequently this role could suit various candidate profiles both Qualified and Qualified by experience. The dynamics of the organisation will provide a great opportunity to help grow a business, upscale its support infrastructure and to gain senior exposure.

     

    Duties:

     

    • Manage the day-to-day finance function, providing accurate and timely financial information
    • Assist with preparation of statutory accounts and support of the year end audit process
    • Monthly balance sheet and control account reconciliation
    • Leadership and coordination of the month end close reporting process
    • Financial budgets and forecasts
    • Provide a robust control framework complying with accounting and regulatory requirements
    • Complete VAT returns, HMRC trading returns, EC, Intrastat and Corporate Tax
    • Cash flow forecasting and working capital management
    • Management and leadership of a small but highly motivated finance team
    • Assist with ad hoc financial and non-financial analysis and reporting as required

     

    Skills and Experience Required:

     

    • Qualified or late-stage Part Qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA accountant or Qualified by Experience
    • IT literate with experience of larger company packages such as SAP or Oracle would be advantageous
    • Excellent financial reporting and VAT/Tax experience
    • The ability to communicate and explain procedures to non-financial staff
    • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships internally and externally
    • Attention to detail and accurate, a ‘completer/finisher
