• Accounts Assistant

    Location: Derbyshire Salary: £21,000 - £23,000 Position: Permanent

    A great opportunity has arisen for my client based closed in Alfreton who is looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for controlling some of the ledgers along with assisting with additional administration duties.

     

    Duties Include:

     

    • Assisting with Balance sheet reconciliations. Weekly and monthly reporting
    • Daily bank reconciliation and Petty cash reconciliation
    • In charge of Purchase Ledger and Sales ledger
    • Sales order processing
    • Supplier payment runs
    • Supplier and customer statement reconciliations
    • VAT reconciliations
    • Dealing with queries and resolving within a timely manner
    • Getting involved with quarterly forecasting and month end variances
    • Assisting with Month end
    • Covering of Payroll

    Personal skills and Preferred experience include:

     

    • Good communication skills
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to work to deadlines, and manage any pressures involved
    • Great team working skills, with the ability to work without supervision when required
    • Previous experience in an account’s environment

     

    The client is looking for someone who genuinely has a love for finance. Applicants will ideally have 2-3 years’ experience working in accounts ideally within an all-around role and have a good working knowledge of Excel.

    The company will provide study support also.

     

    Benefits and Hours:

     

    • £21,000 to £23,000 depending on experience
    • 9am – 5pm with a 30-minute lunch
    • 21 days holidays plus statutory bank holidays but will increase over length of service
    • Onsite parking
